Q.What counts as a "MacBook"?
Most people use it as a catch-all for any Apple laptop. In Apple's naming it's three separate lines: the MacBook Pro, the MacBook Air, and the plain MacBook (discontinued in 2019). Nearly everyone selling has a Pro or an Air.
Q.Do you buy the plain MacBook?
Not at the moment. That covers the white polycarbonate models, the aluminium unibody, and the 12-inch Retina MacBook. Resale demand for that line has fallen away, so we've stopped buying it rather than offer prices that aren't worth your postage.
Q.How do I know if mine is a Pro or an Air?
Click the Apple menu → About This Mac. It states the model and year exactly. It's also printed under the screen and on the underside of the case. Our 30-second guide walks through it.
