The grades

Grades A to E, in plain English

Be honest with your grade — if in doubt, pick the lower one. A device that arrives matching its grade is paid at the quoted price, no adjustments.

A

Grade ALike new

New-out-of-the-box quality: no screen blemishes, no cosmetic flaws, all hardware fully functioning and fault-free. Battery fully working within the manufacturer's guidelines, under 500 charge cycles.

B

Grade BWell looked after

Good condition with a few hairline scratches; no marks on the screen; fully functioning in every way and complete. A device that's been cared for. Good battery under 500 cycles.

C

Grade CSigns of use

Clean and reasonable condition with visible signs of use — small dents to the casing are fine. No damage to the screen and no faults with any hardware. Battery charges and operates, under 500 cycles.

D

Grade DWorn but working

Clear signs of wear — dents, scratches, can be dirty and cosmetically poor — but fully operational. Minor screen marks are acceptable, as are tired batteries over 500 cycles.

E

Grade EFaulty but complete

The device is faulty but complete. Damage is acceptable — including a damaged screen, as long as it's still in its casing, and a faulty battery — but not breaks in the motherboard or water damage.
