Have you been hoping for a 2023 release date for Apple’s 32-inch iMac? The good news is that Apple is developing an Apple Silicon iMac with a screen that is bigger than 30 inches. The bad news is that we might not be able to get our hands on it until it’s released, and the time of release is likely to be in 2024 if not later. It’s been a couple years since there was news of Apple’s plans to introduce a bigger version of their 24-inch M1 iMac. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reported that Apple’s work on the 32-inch iMac is in the early stages for the time being. He said that there is still a lot of experimentation going on and that there is not likely to be a launch for this computer before the end of 2024.

Gurman did reveal that Apple has a new version of the 24-inch iMac in the works that will be released early next year. This iMac will have an M3 chip and will be one of the first M3-based devices that Apple’s ever released. The last update for the 24-inch iMac was a couple of years ago. At that time, the 24-inch iMac had the M1 chip.

Some might find it interesting that Apple is seemingly in no hurry to release a larger iMac with Apple Silicon. The release of this device would be a great follow-up to the iMac Pro line. However, the folks at Apple will do what they think is best for the Apple brand as a whole.

A large screen version of the iMac might seem to be too similar to what they have in their lineup already. Apple has the Mac Studio and the Mac mini. These devices are both desktop Macs that can be used with any external display. Apple also has their own external display: the Studio Display. This is available for the first time since 2016. This gives consumers the option to use the Mac mini or Mac Studio paired with Studio Display if they want.

If you’re like many of the Apple fans craving the 32-inch iMac, you will have to wait a little longer. In the meantime, Apple will be releasing other products that can fill the gap until the 32-inch iMac is available for purchase. Hang in there just a little longer!
