A few things swing the price more than people expect. Knowing them before you quote means no surprises when your iMac arrives.
Chip, RAM & storage
Apple Silicon models, 16GB+ memory and larger SSDs hold value far better than base configs — and a Fusion Drive prices differently to a pure SSD. Get the spec exactly right for an accurate offer.
Screen condition
The display is most of an iMac's value. Scratches, chips, dead pixels or image retention move the quote — describe any marks honestly and we price it case by case rather than rejecting it.
Cosmetic condition
Light wear on the stand or rear casing is fine and expected. Dents or cracked glass move you down a grade — see our grading guide.
Apple ID & Find My
Sign out of iCloud and remove Find My before sending — essential on 2020-and-later iMacs with the T2 chip or Apple Silicon. A machine still locked can only be valued for parts.
Keyboard, mouse & power lead
Your iMac should come complete with its power lead and an official Apple keyboard and mouse — we'll still buy it without them, but the replacement cost is deducted from your quote (£35 for a missing power lead). Include them and the price you see is the price you get.
Original box
Not essential, but the original packaging is the safest way to ship a desktop this size — and telling us you have it in the quote form can add a little to your offer.

Q.How much is my iMac worth?
It comes down to the model and chip — the 24″ M4 and M3 hold the most value, and a well-specced 27″ 5K or iMac Pro can still fetch a strong price — plus RAM, storage, and screen and cosmetic condition. Q.Do you buy Intel and older iMacs?
Yes. We buy iMacs from 2012 onwards — the slim unibody 21.5″ and 27″ models, the 4K and 5K Retina range through 2020, the iMac Pro, and every Apple Silicon generation from M1 to M4.
Q.Can I sell an M2 iMac?
There isn't one — Apple never made an M2 iMac. The 24″ line went straight from the M1 (2021) to the M3 (2023). If you're not sure which yours is, check Apple menu → About This Mac, or ask us and we'll identify it from the serial number.
Q.How do I ship something as big as an iMac?
Collection is by insured DPD courier, free of charge. The original box with its foam inserts is the safest option if you still have it — otherwise pack it well in a sturdy box with plenty of padding around the screen, and the insurance covers it in transit either way.
Q.I don't have the keyboard, mouse or power lead — is that a problem?
We'll still buy your iMac. A missing power lead means a £35 deduction for a replacement; just tell us what's included when you quote so the figure is accurate first time.
Q.Do I need to remove Find My and sign out of iCloud?
Yes. Turn off Find My Mac, sign out of iCloud and remove your Apple ID first — especially on T2-chip (2020) and Apple Silicon iMacs, where a machine still locked to an Apple ID can only be valued for parts. Our preparation guide walks through it.
